    Reproducing an old bow window

I finally managed to fit this behemoth. The old one was comically rotten in places but they never fall out. I do recommend being able to detach the cill to enable the rather tricky cutouts that allow it to slot into the wall. Needless to say the way the original was made had a few surprises...

eBay scrapping selling fees for private sellers

I can't tell from the wording if they have scrapped all fees. Hopefully!

eBay scrapping selling fees for private sellers

They've only scrapped the listing fee(35p) the huge transaction fee is still there 25_30%. Most don't pay a listing fee anyway. Trust me there tighter than a nuns chuff.

    Footprint making Augers

Remember this building down the bottom end of Sheffield. I'm in total agreement about the steel quality. Amazing but tends to rust. Best known for there adjustable wrenches(footprints) nowhere near as ubiquitous as they once were.

    Crack filling

No I'd suggest epoxy impregnation then epoxy filler such as repaircare(its a Belgium product I think) be warned it breaks down under uv so something to filter this needs to go on top(osmo uv?sikkens)

    Hand tool door making

It was totally routine for a timber yard to be surrounded by houses that there forebears had built. We had one called Hydes that built the house i grew up in. Congleton north rode timber is also surrounded.

Shooting board versus mitre trimmer for fine boxes

    Axi apf10

Today at the car boot I brought an apf 10 for the grand sum of £2! Anyway the helmet looks to have little use but of course the battery and charger weren't in the bucket. Looking on ebay there ridiculously expensive. I thought maybe I could make something that would work. It's 4.7v 4000mah. I've...

    Hand tool door making

An old joiner from Audley in Staffordshire suggested 2 days for a door and frame. This was a family firm and his dad and grandad both worked there. He said Audley houses had many odd door sizes that meant people had to have them made. But eventually he found it better to cut up brought in doors...

Shooting board versus mitre trimmer for fine boxes

Could you talk us through the finer details? Do you leave a smchidge or a bit more ? Can you cut through?

    Bevel edge/ chamfer edge

Great job. Basically you used the 45 cut as a guide(and to remove waste) when planing your 25. Love solutions that use either 1. Just have at it 2. A plan using what you've got. Every tricky job is one or the other.

    No Metal workers In Sheffield.

There's a guy works next to me whose great at this stuff. You'd need a decent drawing and he could price it up. Pay most up front and I could ship it (or you could puck up)

    Bevel edge/ chamfer edge

    Please tell us how?

    Bevel edge/ chamfer edge

Another case where even with a table saw the boards need to start reasonably flat and similar thickness to make a decent job.

    Bevel edge/ chamfer edge

Just to complicate this the much better way would be but that would be a challenge at any level! These can survive sans flashing I've seen them on very old greenhouses. I guess they get wet then get dry.

Shooting board versus mitre trimmer for fine boxes

I've seen the mitre fold and heard its cool but I thought it was only for ply. Does it work good for solid? Is it cheap and easy to import? Maybe a tool test needed here....hint hints....

Shooting board versus mitre trimmer for fine boxes

Don't forget flat and square and equal length is also important. The mitre is a very fussy joint for perfection imho.
