    Reds under the bed!

Do you actually read stuff that you make reference to? If you do, do you actually consider what it’s actually saying? Thatcher was highlighting that her policies had brought into stark contrast the idiosyncrasy of labours left wing strategy and forced them to move towards the centre, i.e. New...

I don’t believe good old Tony was ever a conservative or a protege of Maggie. Are you aware of how many millionaires there are in the Labour Party? Being wealthy is not exclusive to Conservatives!

    Yet another Startrite TA275 Query..

In the rack there should be 4 extensions for the RH table which were all the same size, a shorter bar which I think was of a smaller diameter to extend the sliding table. There are two loops which held the spindle nut spanner and two clips which held the bar that goes through the table top to...

@MorrisWoodman12 thanks for taking the time to search. I did the same, and couldn’t find anything. I’ve downloaded the user manual and parts manual but couldn’t find a workshop manual. could I trouble you to post a link of anything you’ve found, I’d be really grateful.

Sweeper advise / which one help

Well, this is my best guess, but I haven’t a clue, so when you’re focused on where you’re going and without getting distracted you can check what is behind you. They are usually used for sweeping roads, car parks, large urban areas where the public are at large! It has a diesel engine and water...

I’ve bought a 400 series Green Machine, secondhand. Anyone have a copy of the service manual they could let me have a copy of?

    Wild fires in BC Canada.

Then sorting out their own CO2 production and getting organised for net zero might be a healthy start! But they won’t, don’t and can’t and instead we get do gooders winging about how unfair it is.

That’s back to per capita arguments. I’m a hairy arse engineer, I’m not into semantics, just hard facts. If you create the stuff, you deal with it. So if your country creates the largest amount of CO2, then if it’s important to the world, deal with your sh*t. If we use the per capita argument...

    @Jacob, now you’ve got it!

Sensible. Whilst the world needs coal and oil, and that includes the UK it’s far better to produce it here reducing the CO2 footprint from having to ship it from half way around the world. If we can ever do without it, then ban / stop production.

I know, why let facts get in the way of your ‘I think it so it must be true’ approach. Look, feel happy with your single glazing, use your computer and contribute to the mega watts being used by the data centres around the world, continue to heat your home, run a gas guzzling car and feel better...

    Wild fires in BC Canada.

Well, actually I can. If the large polluting nations don’t do anything, which they really aren’t in terms of moving to net zero then anything little old Blighty does is irrelevant. If ‘poor‘ country’s with a few billion people are causing most of the CO2 emissions, beating up our economy...

    Wild fires in BC Canada.

@Jacob. Simply, ALL COUNTRIES should be aiming for Zero emissions by the agreed date irrespective of their population or existing levels of CO2 emissions. The onus though should be on the largest polluters to make the largest reduction faster than the smaller polluters, that’s just simple...

@Jacob, every tribe in Africa collected slaves and sold them. The point which you clearly fail to comprehend is that nobody, black, white or from any ethnic group isn’t innocent. Like most things, what was acceptable today will be considered unacceptable tomorrow. You can’t make moral judgements...

Slavery is as old as mankind, every nation has been involved with it. Now, if you’re talking about the African Slavery this was driven by, caused by, managed by, profited by Black Africans. The white man did not capture slaves in Africa, they bought them at the shores. The UK stopped slavery...

That’s because you have and continue to demonstrate a complete lack of understanding about economics.

    Wild fires in BC Canada.

We have already had this discussion, and again you are illustrating your complete lack of comprehension. Who cares about how much CO2 per person is generated? If the UK generates x tonnes of CO2, that’s all we can affect, that’s the limit of our ability to reduce CO2. If India produces 20X CO2...

The thing don’t get hung up on us people’s wealth. A billionaire doesn’t have the cash stuffed under the mattress or indeed in a bank. It’s invested in industry, it employs people and leads to new inventions and products that we all enjoy and adds to enrich everyone’s lives. The businesses they...
