Yep, exactly, it takes time as opposed to an EV being refuelled whilst you go about your business. Not like being able to refuel on your drive at a fraction of the cost of diseasel . Maybe you don’t notice any more. It makes you wonder why they put disposable gloves and wipes on forecourts...

That I know about for sure but 32 kW home charging is way above what ive heard and seen before, presumably it's DC too because you cant use AC charging at that level? May I ask what make of charger is it? J

Thats one hell of a beefy home charger

If youre considering EV put 5p kWh into your calculations, thats the rate available from Tomato Energy.

    Electric vehicles

Probably the same people who don't want their lives shortened by ICE vehicles......... just saying. It really depends on how you think about EV's. I don't have plan to visit a petrol station because my EV charges whilst I'm asleep, out at the cinema, shopping or dining out. I don't have to...

    Electric vehicles

Thats a great first step into EVdom, the electric side of it will cover 99% of your use and the engine is onboard if you want to do a longer trip and charging isnt possible. We had a Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV as our first introduction to electric driving, it fitted my wifes use perfectly and...

    Electric vehicles

Interesting if you look at their figures. 43mpg which they say is 12.5p per mile. - That means theyre buying diesel at 5.37 per gallon or £1.18 per litre, Really? Never let facts get in the way of a good story eh? They quote 80p per kWh and 3.3 miles / KWh which is as they say 24p per mile. A...

    Electric vehicles

Developments happen at a hell of a pace, very difficult to keep up for sure. I agree but we need to find an efficient way of harvesting the Hydrogen, with the current tech 3 x the amount of energy to harvest it than it produces when used is a killer IMHO. We really should look at wavepower...

    Electric vehicles

Possibly relatively light weight BUT they would be very expensive. Yep, I'm aware of both of those points, it still gets back to the cost of the fuel which makes it nigh on impossible to use. Watch the video above from Prof David Cebon. The point is you can do just this. At the terminus where...

    Electric vehicles

The tanks are NOT lighter than I expect, theyre very thick metal items that weigh a lot. The fact that you need more Hydrogen than fossil fuels further hinders Hydrogen operation. To hold 5kg of Hydrogen the tank weighs in at 100kg and that is sufficient fuel for around 270 miles in a fuel cell...

Thanks for the info, it is food for thought (no pun intended).

    Electric vehicles

I'll bow to your greater knowledge, I'm not convinced it is entirely true though. Urine is a waste product from the body which AFAIK is pretty much sterile. The excrement from humans unless coming from a vegetarian human are not as good as that from animals which are generally grass eaters...

    Electric vehicles

As a result of the media that EV's are bad by simply repeating mythical garbage.

    Electric vehicles

Im not sure that human waste can be used to much benefit. Methane is an ok use, probably have a treatment plant with a generation turbine attached would work very efficiently. It would help in the river clean up for sure.

    Electric vehicles

Until a cheaper way is developed for harvesting the Hydrogen AND an efficient way of storing / transporting Hydrogen it simply will not happen. It's way too expensive, storage tanks are extremely heavy and the pressures involved are dangerously high. Aye, take a look at the work done by Toyota...

Possibly your choice of EV isnt the most favourable. I run 2 EV's a BMW i3 and an MG5 Trophy. Both of them have fully coimprehensive insurance with Direct Line at under £300 each. The MG5 can be purchased new, all the bells and whistles, 7 year warranty, 250 mile range for under £20k now (Perrys...

Just like a recession, we talk ourselves into it. The media, press etc seem to love knocking EV's and it's mostly unfounded rubbish they protray. I have run EV's (2 of them) for the last 7 years and none of the popular myths have happened - batteries are dead after 7 years, NOPE, you have to...

    The Cheapest Energy So Far

I went live on Tomato on 1st September:- oh dear, how could this happen? You have to make your own mind up, I'm a newbie with Tomato and it may all go wrong but in my view the savings are too great to ignore and I'm pretty hacked off with Octopus as you know.

Recommendations for low price ultrasonic cleaner for Stihl carburetor

It's worth taking it apart first, give it a good blast of carb cleaner, especially down the jets, emulsion tube etc. Repeat it 2 or 3 times leaving a few minutes between each blast and then try it again. Stalling on throttle opening usually means weak mixture, if you leave the choke on and then...

    The Cheapest Energy So Far

You can export elsewhere, my export has stayed with Octopus and according to their customer services it can stay there on 15p kWh It doesnt work like that, the readings can still be read by the supplying companies. Correct and no restrictions like with Octopus My export tariff renewed 4 days...
