    Tracksaw

If you already own a 180mm circular saw you could just get the tracks and mounting plate from Milescraft, it has been a very popular product this year. https://woodworkersworkshop.co.uk/milescraft-tracksawguide/ Cheers Peter

Royal Mail - complete ban on bladed items from 22nd April

I only wish as a supplier I could easily swap delivery company for our bladed items, I am afraid its not only RM who are restricting the movement of knives. The likelihood is we will be reducing or stop supplying these items, we may only have them available in store, at shows or not at all. We...

Advice needed -Minimax C26 G-T combination machine

I don't have any experience of the SCM combination machines, last time I looked at buying a single phase SCM planer I thought it was underpowered for its size but well engineered. Usually as planer beds get narrower they also get shorter, something to consider if you need to plane longer timbers...

Ash vs Beech for a workbench

I have bought 40mm beech from here before for bench worktops. They use narrow strips which helps keep the top flat as long as you oil both sides at the same time. https://www.worktop-express.co.uk/beech-worktops/#product-detail-items Cheers Peter

Ash vs Beech for a workbench

Either timber would be do, Ash move slightly less, Beech is harder wearing and would be my first choice. https://www.wood-database.com/european-ash/ https://www.wood-database.com/european-beech/ Cheers Peter

Ash vs Beech for a workbench

Most benches are made of beech, great for workbenches but does have a high movement factor so try and keep your workshop dry-this will also benefit your tools and your work. Cheers Peter

    Digital Calipers

Quality digital callipers have many advantages over scale vernier callipers, ease of reading is just one of them but very important as the eyes age. Other advantages include flipping between metric, imperial and fractions, setting zero at any point and measuring the difference between...

    Enjoywood Router lift depth walking

The router lifts we sell at Wood Workers Workshop are made by JessEm in Canada, very different from these ones made in Asia. I have never seen one of ours change in height but they do have a height lock as a fail safe. The second half of this video talks about the router lifts. Cheers Peter

    Riving knife thickness

The kurf of the blade (teeth) should be wider than the thickness of the blades plate and the riving knife, so my guess is this would be fine. The important thing is that the riving knife is thicker than the plate of the saw blade, does the description mention this thickness? If you buy the...

Why is this dangerous kit being advertised on here?

Just had a scan read over this thread and I do take various points on board which I will address with our team once they return from their Christmas holidays. Some images could lead to poor practises so I will review them again, the videos are on YouTube and are for public consumption and views...
