    What timber is this?.

I noticed that but thought that it may have been just a different cut of timber. Cedar, interesting!!. Thanks

Top or Bottom bearing router bit?.

Did you do that for me Mr jhwbigley?. If so your a true asset to this forum. I sort of understood your method in your first post, thanks for clearing it up. I've trimmed with a router before so fairly confident of taking it easy and the right direction for the grain. Was just unsure of whether I...

    What timber is this?.

Cheers guys. Just thought some one may have had the answer. The clients getting Teak whether they like it or not. I have to do a drawing from this very informative picture somehow.

Top or Bottom bearing router bit?.

I've got roughly 3mm-5mm to remove and will do this with as many runs as it takes. Thinking I may make a second template to go above the work and bolt through the two templates and the work piece to try and prevent as much tare out as possible.

I thought that after I wrote it, sorry mate. Just thought it was a bit obvious.

    What timber is this?.

That's why I'm struggling, not sure if this is a piece just of the production line or ten years into it's life in the sun. I'm going with Oak. Cheers

    What timber is this?.

Erm the two big wooden things in the picture!!. The loungers, a client wants something similar and am just thinking of what the timber could be. I't is quiet difficult to tell from the photo but that's all I've got to work on at the moment, silvering over time. Cheers.

Top or Bottom bearing router bit?.

The template I have made has 100mm over hang at the top and bottom of the legs so I can either screw or bolt this to the work piece. I can therefore rotate the piece so the template is above or below the work and in turn this can be attached to a piece that I can clamp down to my bench if I...

    What timber is this?.

I'm guessing that it's Oak but as my knowledge of timber runs to Iroko and Teak so far, therefore I could be very wrong.

Top or Bottom bearing router bit?.

That's one of the things that I thought may affect it, the tear out factor, but surely it dose not make any difference. Someone will come along shortly and give us the definitive answer, or maybe they won't and I'll order the wrong one!!.

Top or Bottom bearing router bit?.

Just a quick one. The girlfriend wants a small side table made similar to this, I have cut and jointed the top and cut four rough sized legs and also the template in 1/4" MDF and was wondering what the best cutter would be to create equal shaped legs. Would it be the Top bearing Or Bottom...

    See through box

Many thanks, so it's a solid lump to start with obviously. Have you ever tried to attach two different colour's together and then turned it. Just curious as I am very impressed with your work and would like to give it a go.

I love it, and like someone wrote above it does evoke some ideas. If only I had the foggiest idea of how you created it. Could you give us a quick run down. I'm assuming a solid piece on a Lathe and then shaped. But how did you join it to the Lathe, sorry if this is an obvious answer but I've...

    my workshop

Wish my inlaws had a spare aircraft hanger for me. Those machines do look a little lost, like a machine grave yard. Not long and you'll have that lived in feeling and look. Don't worry about the heating, the summer is on the way and there's always that extra jumper knocking about. Good Work Fella

    Wall boards in shower enclosure

Found this for you. http://www.asktooltalk.com/questions/faq/interior/bathrooms/green_board.php In my opinion when it comes to tiling the shower area it would be a lot easier to have a continues panel running the full length of the shower area, floor to ceiling. Is the builder just going to...

The Spur bracket failed, not sure if it was somehow on a slight twist, but it was supporting a load of books at home, only a 1.6m span but once that one went the rest followed. I'm looking to use them to support large lengths of Iroko above my work area so could do without a second incident. I...
