Paslode 350 playing up, any ideas?

You can get a spray tin of brake cleaner from Toolstation for £2.33, which is what I use to clean mine with. I did buy a small bottle of the correct Paslode oil off of the Bay, but as said previously, the proper cleaning kit is a ripoff.

Melamine for facing a router table top :?:

Try Dunstable Laminates, they sell all sorts of laminates. What they call "backing laminate" is perfectly suitable, and they sell offcuts as well as full sheets (8'x4'). Last bit I bought from them was about 4'x3' and cost me about £5. Daz

    Which Car?

I've got an S40 T4, and love it. Boot opening is tiny, if you've got a heavy foot then it drinks petrol like it's going out of fashion, and a new set of wellies is £500+. I've had it for 6 years and it still gives me a grin though. Very comfortable too (I'm 6ft 6 and 17st, so need a bit of...

    DRO Digital readout for planer/thicknessers

Told me all postage would be refunded. Here's what I ordered Here's what I got Look similar, but the one I ordered has more positioning features. Oh and it was supplied with a flat battery as well. Rutlands are going downhill IMO. Daz

    DRO Digital readout for planer/thicknessers

I ordered the Rutlands one and sent it back straight away, wasn't even the one they picture.

    TV out on graphic card

Do you have an option on the tv card software to change from S-Video input to Composite video? A S-Video lead can carry either.

    Newbie router station WIP

The plate is a Jessem "Mast R Plate" and its totally flat. Bought it from Rutlands, but doesn't look like they still sell them. Originally was going to fit a phenolic one, until I realized that most of them are bent/warped (even though the manufacturers called them crowned!). Who wants a bent...

    Newbie router station WIP

Ah, well the fence is in the R&D phase at the moment. It's going to go one of two ways: if it works as I hope you'll all want one, or if it doesn't it's going on the bonfire before anyone sees it. Watch this space.

    Aldi Router Table

In Stevenage there's still plenty of everything apart from biscuit jointers

My very very first piece of furniture

Great piece of work Gareth. If that's your first then I can't wait to see what you can do when you really get going. Daz

    Shaping Aluminum

Yes climb cutting is opposite to normal, which is fine if you're on a milling machine and everything is fixed so tight and to something so solid you'd need a bomb to move it. Basically if there's any movement at all the cutter will try to climb over the workpiece and fire it out the other end...

    Newbie router station WIP

Yep, now have a nasty looking hardboard cover for it. Top laminate in front of the track has been relpaced once as it got damaged. Quite lucky as a mate gave me 1/2 a sheet and i had just enough left. When I found out the price of it I nearly **** myself (£100 per full sheet Polyrey P066...

    Newbie router station WIP

Hi guys, I'm a total newbie at woodworking, but here's the WIP of my first creation. Haven't got the room for a permanent router bench, so it's a flip up. Framework is welded Dexion racking, struts are 20mm square steel tube. Top is 3-1/2 by 2-1/2ft, 2 sheets 18mm MDF laminated both sides, edged...

    Shaping Aluminum

Cheers Neil. I think I'm going to be getting into woodworking quite a bit (blame Norm!!!). As mentioned in previous post I'm currently making a router station. Having the top hinged to a wall, as space won't allow a proper table (yet). Will post pics soon.

    Shaping Aluminum

Should be no problems, I flushed trimmed the end of my T track using my router when I made my router table top. Cutters are available for cutting ally, as they use them in the window manufacturing industry. I used a normal bearing guided trim bit, kept the speed high(ish) and the cuts really...
