    Table Saw Blade Advice Needed...

Mostly furniture, sound diffusers, shelving units. I do often have quite a lot of repetitive cuts. Just finished some diffusers with 33 of the same strips. What do you mean by make sure the pin holes match my machine? I just assumed the pin holes in the blade were for sound quietening or...

    Table Saw Blade Advice Needed...

OK, sooooooooo I think I have narrowed it down to these two: https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00JBJAIG2/ref=cm_sw_r_other_apa_i_HLoFFbP6ZJAMV https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00JBJA8C6/ref=cm_sw_r_other_apa_i_lCoFFbYQ1KRYQ I figure the rip blade will get the most use, I tend to use the festool rail...

Eyup folks, hope we're all doing OK and getting plenty making done :-) I'm looking to replace my 10" table saw blades and my head is about ready to pop... Usage: -Hard and soft wood ripping, sometimes up to ~70mm thick -Ripping birch ply and normal ply -Occasional cross cutting using a...

    Salting your glue-ups

Also, maybe you only need a wee bit of salt, enough for a few grains to provide friction?

    Salting your glue-ups

I hadn't heard of this til now. I suppose it depends what you're gluing up. Where possible I tend to use biscuits or clamps across the join to keep things in line. I quite like finding a way to use all of my clamps at once

    Wood yard closed or open?

Shawfield timber in Glasgow is open. You call and order and pay on the phone then collect it at your specified time from your specified bay outside their yard. B and Q are doing the same thing but for people who like getting ripped off when buying wood. D

    Which floor standing pillar drill?

So my drill arrives on Monday! Decided on a used Meddings I saw on ebay, and after some haggling the seller replaced the chuck for a nice keyless one, got it palleted up and sent up to me here in Glasgow. He fabricated a new table for it, it's already on single phase and it has around 0.04mm...

    Looking for a Bandsaw.

I just bought a Record Power BS400 and while it's more expensive than what you stated, it's an absolute cracker of a machine. Great fence, accurate, very solid body with no flex when the blade tension gets high. I bought three blades from tuffsaws to deal with curves, veneers, resawing and...

Cabinet Scraper Burnisher - Which of the three?

I just find it interesting that a burnisher that cost £9 did the job on Veritas super hard scrapers. The burnisher was unmarked afterwards too. Does that mean they really used even harder steel in a cheapo burnisher? I don't quite get it, either we're getting seriously ripped off paying lots for...

Cabinet Scraper Burnisher - Which of the three?

I have a set of those veritas super hard scrapers and borrowed a friends £10 no-name burnisher which worked a treat. Don't get too caught up in the game, I'd say its more about technique than product. Square edges and a few accurate strokes is all that's required, as long as the steel is...

    Which floor standing pillar drill?

Thank you yet again. I've seen a warco wm 30 I may buy. Seems its a drilling/milling machine. As long as it's good for drilling wood I think I'll end up going for that. Seems a very well made machine...

    Which floor standing pillar drill?

They replied with a picture of the motor and its 250w. How easy is it to upgrade that motor? I have no idea what sort to look for or buy and any help would be greatly appreciated, as is all the help already received :-)

    Which floor standing pillar drill?

There's a fobco for sale, I've messaged the chap and he says when the quill is fully extended theres a little play in it. How easy/expensive is this to fix? Cheers.

    Which floor standing pillar drill?

Thanks again, waiting to hear back from the seller about any play in the quill etc. Fingers crossed, this is the last thing I need to decide on. I've chosen my extraction, table saw, bandsaw, p/t and a few new hand tools (a new scraper burnisher being one of them since my scrapers are too hard...

    Which floor standing pillar drill?

So, there's potential for me to obtain one of these but I.m unsure as to the model and spec of it, does anyone know what kind of meddings it is and if it would stand up to professional use? Massive thanks for all the help so far, I'm almost at the point of purchase having looked at every single...
