Cracking ideas, extreme hoopla! For me even a normal hoopla would be extreme. I like the idea of a stair saw actually, though I don't know when I'd use it... Maybe for the wall :-) It's likely tough enough for a nice wee marking knife and it'd be interesting to make. Thanks folks D

Thanks, I should also add that this is just half of it, the left half. The right half will be its mirror image and there will be a hanging rail in the middle space. It wouldn't get in the room otherwise and will get screwed together on site and a couple of wide birch ply braces spanning the gap...

Hi guys, I've got 60 m+t joints to cut and plan on cutting the tenons on the table saw using my crosscut sled. The only issue it the ATB blade leaves a very uneven finish due to the alternating bevel. I guess a purely flat blade would cause a lot of tearout and I can't fit a dado blade on my saw...

I bought a Japanese 16mm chisel and bit for it and have been cutting mortise in beech and oak. The first cut is tough but slow even pressure sorts that. Once you're in it chomps away happily. It's definitely needs secured. I've bolted it onto a solid worktop as a base which can then be clamped...

I think if you buy a good quality multitool you will find many uses for it once you've realised how bloody long it takes to get the tiles off and have reverted to hammer and chisel/sds and chisel. Buy the tool, they're ace. I just replaced my cheapo Aldi multitool with a milwaukee one. D

Eyup, I'm just about to order a potentiometer to give my 8" record power bench grinder variable speed. Should be a fairly simple job, has anyone done this before? Is there something I'm missing or is it really as simple as wiring the pot in front of the motor? Cheers Damo

Thanks guys, I got one of the multi jigs from the guy that makes them and sells them on eBay. Roll on Monday at the workshop. All I need to do now is knock up a pedestal for the lathe, it'll be getting bolted to both the wall and into the concrete floor, should be fairly solid :-)

I just bought a Record Power 8" grinder with white wheel and one of those jigs off ebay. Cheapest way I could find whilst still being an efficient and repeatable way to sharpen.

I use a CMT 285.040.10M for my day to day cutting Mostly ripping and crosscutting hardwoods. 40 tooth, super sharp. Using the Axminster 10" trade series. D

I've used one for exactly that, they can wander easily but if you know this in advance and practice on some scrap it can be a very efficient and clean way to cut skirting. They're a great tool once you know how best to use them. I've been fitting a kitchen this week and it's been worth it's...
