    Floating stair treads

Yes. It probably would be more hassle than it's worth.

    Floating stair treads

So I need to make 13 stair treads for a floating staircase that we intend on putting in our house next year. I have calculated that I need 16 cu ft of oak, but it got me thinking as to whether I could make them from 18mm birch which I can laminate with 3mm oak veneer (if such a thing exists)...

What is so difficult about a Ft3 price for prime grade oak?

It's a first for me. When I used to ring up Sydenhams at Maiden Bradley, they would simply give me a ft3 price over the phone. Just called another mill, and they were happy to quote 10ft3 price for 38mm and 25mm sawn boards and didn't ask for the width.

What is so difficult about a Ft3 price for prime grade oak?

So I just rang up iwood.co.uk to ask what price for 13ft3 of prime grade oak, and explained that I have a self-build house to build and that there will be much more than that. He starts then saying he needs a cutting list to quote a ft3 price. I basically got tired and though to myself, that...

    Sawn timber Hampshire?

I have been out of the game for a while, and have also moved recently. I used to get my timber from Sydenhams in Maiden Bradley, but need to find a new supplier in the Basingstoke area. I just had a look online and nearly baulked at the joke prices. Admittedly it was PAR, but British...

    Machinery Transportation

Hi, I’m looking for a company to transport a combination machine (780kg) from East Anglia to Wiltshire and was wondering what I’d be looking at paying. I don’t have a way of getting the machine off the truck, but the driveway is flat and can push it into the garage. Thanks

Festool & Dewalt Dust Extraction Hose

When you consider that the Festool hose is a ridiculous £200 that is a much better bet.

    Floating staircase steel work

I think a lot of whether you like it or not, depends upon whether you enjoy painting spindles :ROFLMAO:

    Current oak sawn ft3 prices?

I haven't purchased any timber for a good few years and the last time was from a timber yard in Maiden Bradley. They have subsequently been taken over and as a result I have absolutely no idea what people are currently paying for sawn oak boards. I know price is dependent upon quantity, but...

    Floating staircase steel work

We are in the process of buying a property that needs complete renovation and I have got my eye on a floating staircase. Whilst I will have no problems making the hollow treads myself, I just don't have any idea regarding sourcing the steelwork and what you can expect to pay. Here is a picture...
