I was given my father’s Record 4-1/2 and a 5 when I was at school. Many years of great service but they had some surface rust from back then. Would like to know how to best carefully remove this? Was thinking scary sharp system for base and maybe sides, but it’ll be a good few hours work each...
Record offer officially expires 28/2/25 but was told whilst they hold stock of the lot on offer incl sc3/sc4 they’ll sell. I snagged an SC4 well worth the extra and the custom jaws on the new Victory chick are interchangeable with the SC4 and very happy with it so far.
SC4 also has additional...
Thank you John. The 3 replacement LED “filament” from ScrewFix are providing working light whilst I run new cabling and fit the four new battens.
BLTdirect was a super recommendation made earlier in this thread. I’ll place four of these for the main area and use the LED panels as suggested in...
I totally agree. I really like the pull switch idea - thank you.
The BLT link mentioned earlier has some excellent options. With the LED tube initial replacements, at least I’ll have some light to set up and lay wiring before cutting over.
I’m perfectly fine replacing myself (I get a qualified electrician to check my work when completed). Was looking for any good product specifications forum members may have used and are happy with.
As an interim, I have replaced the bulbs with LED for the two 5’ and 6’ for less than £20 from...
I have a separate light on the lathe from one of the two power rings. The replacement to the strip lights will be on the dedicated lighting circuit and will be mains powered. I have three mains power circuits (it’s all single phase) available for machines.
I have a double garage as a workshop. It has three woeful fluorescent strip lights on a dedicated lighting circuit just for the garage workshop - tubes and starters on last legs!
I am looking to replace these three and add more. I have usual machines, tablesaw bandsaw lathe etc. this group has...
I literally purchased the SC4 days before this chuck was launched. Some of the new jaw fittings look excellent and thankfully they fit the SC4! It is good to have a system and sensibly priced jaws you can add as a when projects arise.
I ordered mine yesterday at Yandles. Excellent service again. Looking forward to setting up on Monday.
I was told the retainer is for shipment only and not required.
Some great videos on setup of these in standard operation. Once I have got my head around the use and purchased the PT, I’ll...
I had spotted this (and similar) in reading threads. I was going to purchase the main unit and then examine extending the capacity - if this became an issue. Thank you for the post.
Again, thank you. I have searched and read some excellent articles. I should have mentioned this. I was surprised at the numbers and wanted at the very least to sense check these.
Thank you. The sucking thin air was my concern for the PT and for the very reasons you describe when working with expensive hardwoods!
The existing Herald lathe is the other item of kit that concerns me. If I go the CamVac (or alternative) route, what do I use to present the end of the hose (I...
