    Nailing/Spraying corded or pneumatic?

Morning, I find myself needing a nailer and spray gun. I’ll mainly be nailing a lot of 18mm ply/mdf for home renovation projects. I’ll also be spraying my kitchen doors, built in wardrobe doors, and maybe some walls. I can get a 50l 13.8cfm compressor for about £210. Probably closer to £300...

    Impact Driver 1/4

I have the Milwaukee 18v which is overkill for most of the stuff I’m doing. I’m currently screwing lots of 18mm ply together and it’s really too much. Feels like I should be using it to frame houses or undo stuck bolts on an oil rig.

    Which dust hose?

I think this is probably the advice I was looking for. Charnwood seem to do the same 50mm hose and fittings as everywhere else at a slightly better price so looks like I’m getting a delivery of assorted bits and pieces. I’ll spring for magnetic if the push fit connectors aren’t doing it for me...

    Which dust hose?

I have a Record Dual Motor Cam Vac with a 100mm hose which works fine for my planer and bandsaw. I have a tracksaw, sander, and a couple of routers all with the same size outlets (32mm off the top of my head) so need a smaller hose and adaptors. 3m is plenty long enough. Conventional wisdom...

Where Can I Buy Leather to Line a Box

I’d just buy offcuts off eBay. I’ve bought pig and lamb leather before.

Gluing kitchen doors - Titebond 3

PVA will form a bond stronger than the wood itself. Perfectly fine for what you’re doing. Superglue shouldn’t be a consideration. I’ve been cutting down scrap to make some very rough workshop storage recently. None of my cuts are perfect 90 degrees and the wood is a bit grubby. I’ve used...

    Circular Saw Vs Track Saw

Do you have problems with the back end of the Erbauer jumping out of the track? I’m only cutting stuff roughly at the moment but it keeps jumping out and not sure what I’ve done wrong.

What kind of woodworker are you?

Wisdom is knowing when you’re replying to a two year old thread. 😃

    Chisel Buying Advice

I’ve had a set of the Aldi/Lidl ones Paul Sellers used to recommend for going on 10 years now. I wonder if they still sell them.

    Machinery wheels? Casters

Rutland’s have a mobile machine base set on their daily deals today. £40, rated at 181kg. Considering buying a couple although it’d be stands for my bandsaw, pillar drill, and possibly a fly press, all of which probably come in at 50kg+ each. I know Rutland’s get mixed reviews so I’m inclined...

    Sold Rutlands Drill Guide

Barely used. Dusty because it lives next to my lathe. £15 plus postage which I’ll probably do at a flat rate of £2, or I can drop it off within reasonable distance of North Merseyside/Preston. Possibly Manchester city centre as I’m there usually once or twice a week. I’ll probably put it up...

Attaching 12mm pipe at right angles.

Like I said, it’s for the challenge as much as anything. I like the idea of figuring out and then having something I’ve made in the house for everyday use. It does seem much more complicated than it seems on the surface though. I’ll get an annular cutter then have a bash at making another...

Attaching 12mm pipe at right angles.

Interesting cheers. Are these suitable for a drill press or do they need an adaptor?

Attaching 12mm pipe at right angles.

Hi, I’m making cupboard handles for my kitchen. The ones we currently have are unusual sizes so the ones we want to replace them with don’t fit. I also just like the challenge of making my own for (almost) free rather than paying a few hundred quid when I have the materials lying around at...
