Thought i would share with you all what i've been working on the last 3 weeks, I'm sorry there's not many before's... i only tend to take photo's at the end of the day.
the wood for the bedroom unit is known locally as Chablis, its various types of spruce that have fallen long before they have been harvested generally found in old forest and rivers, It's very pretty with purples and blues running throughout the grain, I have one piece that has a whole spectrum within 160mm
The problem is because this wood dead long before its harvested it's very prone to splitting along the growth rings, so fine selection prior to cutting/assembly will save you lots of "f"ing and blinding at the glue up. (we never stop learning)
BTW - this whole project was built using kreg pocket hole.... I like to learn what a new tool is capable of.
