hi all, i like to give credit where credit`s due and have nothing to do with mid cornwall saw services.
some may remember my post (more-tools-gloat-t46406.html) where i picked up a few tools from my local recycling center, well the saws have just got back from their trip to mid cornwall saw services, i sent the two disstons which i belive are a d-8 and a d-12?? these are dated around C,1925, i also sent the j beet & sons tennon saw dated C,1845 and i sent the spear and jackson dovetail saw `no 26` the teeth on this one were completly shot.
i had the saw`s picked up from my house and returned with a week turnaround, each saw has come back nice`n sharp and set, the previously useless s&j 26 is now not far off the pace to my new veritas 14tpi dovetail saw.
at a cost of £7 a saw i didn`t think this was un-reasonable and far better than my many hours of trying to learn how to learn to do it my-self. (i would of probably knackered them all in the process any way )
regards mark.
