What implications?
That imported good will rise in price due to currency fluctuations, but the idea was just to create thread about who actually manufactures woodworking kit in the UK.
Some people might chose to support UK industry.

It's not about Brexit as such, just a list of who make what.

Titman router cutters - the only one manufacturing in the UK
Makita power tools have some UK manufacturing - it's clearly printed on the tool
Sedgewick machinery

Here's a link to Sedgwick:

The great thing with manufacturing is that just about anyone who has a few thousand pounds or euros to invest can buy some old machines for scrap value and modernize them using materials bought at local scrap yards and set up some sort of manufacturing business. There are plenty of naysayers but this route is proven possible.
I see some great opportunities for production in your country once you become free from the CE-serfdom.

Buying British is a laudable and rewarding idea no matter the political climate, it's just a relatively better deal than usual at the moment.

I think you've missed Crown, Hamlet and Richard Kell from the list so far.

Also has anyone seen the new Clifton flat and round spokeshaves? Might pick up the flat one as I had very little use for the concave/convex ones.

Rhossydd, I think you've mixed up your links, www.flinn-garlick-saws.co.uk is a much more informative link about Clifton and Thomas Flinn.
Whether you're an in or outer I think we all hope that the current state of the pound will be helpful to UK companies exporting

I was just thinking the same thing

I'm hoping that in a couple of weeks everyone will go back to the reason this forum exists.

Footprint Tools

Joseph Marples

Atkinson Walker saw blades

A bit more niche, but Karl Holtey and Bill Carter both make planes.

I looked carefully at their web site, but couldn't see any claim that they actually manufactured their cutters in the UK.
The implication is that Wealden do, but shrubby says Titman are the only router cutter manufacturers, so some doubt there.

Trend used to sell cutters from Titman - they had the trademark slot across the end of the shank. Much of the Wealden stuff looks like KWO Germany to me

Wealden Tool Company http://www.wealdentool.com/
Router cutters, spindle cutters, saw blades

Sorry but Wealden cutters are not British made they are mostly made in the far east - Taiwan (Arden) make many excellent router cutters for various well know British brands as do Israel mainly by Dimar (who also seemingly make many of the Trend and Axminster cutters too), some are made in China and some in the USA and other countries. Israel in fact produces the majority of mid-quality rebranded router cutters for sale in UK. That isn't to say that all these brands are the same - each brand will specify the quality of steel, grade of micrograin carbide etc.

Titman are the only UK manufacturer of router cutters that I know of - they are outstanding cutters but they are pricey and really only easily accessible through trade. As far as I know neither Trend nor Wealden manufacture anything in house - that is not to underestimate the value they add through design innovation and drawing up a good manufacturing spec - and of course quality control and after service.

All of the Italian brands manufacture in house and as such they make first class cutters - Freud being a personal favourite
